Hare Data Platform:
a complete lakehouse data platform.

Query, compute, table format, storage, security and operations — integrated into one platform, deployed and supported as one. Every layer is open technology, and any layer can be replaced independently.

Why Hare

Anyone can get the open-source parts. The difference is the integration.

Iceberg, Trino and Spark are open-source projects you could deploy yourself. The real work is turning them into a platform that is stable, secure and easy to operate — and that is what Hare delivers.

Many engines

Write once. Every tool can read it.

Once data is in Hare, reports, SQL, notebooks and AI all read the same tables — no more copying and syncing data for every tool.

Security & governance

Same table, different people, different data.

Hare applies access rules by identity in real time: which rows are visible, which columns are masked, and every query is logged. Switch roles on the left to try it.

Deployment

Management, compute and storage — each scales on its own.

A reference configuration for a mid-sized deployment; actual sizing follows your assessment. Runs on bare metal, virtualization platforms and fully air-gapped environments.

The whole platform, on one screen.

Hare ships with monitoring and alerting dashboards: Trino queries, queues and memory; MinIO capacity, traffic and health — visible in real time, with proactive alerts. Use the tabs to switch dashboards.

FAQ

Questions we hear most when teams evaluate Hare.

How is Hare different from assembling open-source components myself?

The components are free, but version matching, deployment, access integration, monitoring and future upgrades are all on you. Hare integrates and maintains all of this, with direct support from our Taiwan-based team.

Do we need to shut down existing systems to adopt Hare?

No. Hare runs alongside existing systems. A single query entry point reaches data on both sides, and workloads move over step by step in priority order — current services keep running.

How much of our existing SQL and reports needs to change?

Hare speaks standard SQL, and BI tools connect directly over JDBC / ODBC. Most queries work as-is; differences are limited to a few functions and syntax details. We inventory your existing SQL first and quantify the changes.

Do we have to use MinIO?

No. Hare works with any S3-compatible object storage — existing storage systems or cloud object storage. We recommend MinIO for new on-prem deployments, but it is not a required component of Hare.

Can Hare run in a fully air-gapped environment?

Yes. Hare supports air-gapped deployment; all components and updates can be installed offline.

How much hardware do we need?

It depends on data volume and use cases. You can start small with management, compute and storage nodes and expand online as load and capacity grow — no need to buy everything up front.

Will our team need to learn a lot of new things?

Day-to-day work is still SQL and familiar BI tools; operations center on the monitoring dashboards. We provide training and runbooks, and keep supporting you after handover.

Want an architecture and sizing estimate for your company?

We size capacity based on your data volume and use cases.
